Do you remember the fairy tale “The Frog Prince” from Grimm Brothers?
We grew up (at least me) with the belief that the princess, by kissing the frog, had it transformed into a prince, and this is highly educational as it helps the children go beyond the first layer, watching the people inside … so when, after several years, I read the true Grimm Brothers’ tale , I was highly disappointed !!!
Now I’m adult and my judgment on the story is totally changed: it seems to me it’s more like a “50 shades” on the contrary, with her mistreating him … really interesting and contemporary.
Although we are no longer spoiled, snobbish, princesses (at least many are not), in a relationship we make ourself respected, but underneath we are still looking for Prince Charming, who protects and defends us from the world badness…
For all the lucky ones, who found him, I say two simple words “hold him tight”, to all others I wish they find him in the shortest possible time, because, even if we can live very well without, love , the real one, gives us an edge …
For my Valentine I combined two aphrodisiac ingredients , chocolate and ginger, adding lime for a fresh and exotic note …
I used a container with a cover in shape of a frog prince; it seemed appropriate for the occasion and by the way is one of my first gift to my prince charming, the real one!

Below is the recipe ,
½ l. of milk
50 gr. of cocoa powder
40 gr. of liquid cream
90 gr. of sugar (if available, substitute 30 gr. dextrose)
15 gr. of milk powder
1 egg yolk
3 gr. of stabilizer
Pinch of salt
1 piece of fresh ginger (ginger)
zest of 1/2 lime
Mix all dry ingredients together, then add the egg yolk while continuing to stir.
For this recipe I used quality cocoa but if you prefer a more “chocolatey” taste, you can replace part or all cocoa with dark chocolate keeping everything in equal amounts.
Add the liquids and, after mixing well, add lime and clean ginger in infusion; if you want a more intense flavor, shred everything.
Put the mix in a saucepan and heat gently up to 85 ° C with the help of a thermometer.
Allow the emulsion to cool down, then, with the help of a strainer, sort the mixture; meanwhile turn on the ice cream maker machine, then pour the mixture into the drum and stir for about 30-40 min. or until you see a well mounted gelato.
Let stand for about 1 hour in the freezer.
If you want an even stronger and exotic taste, decorate with bits of candied ginger … a real pleasure !!!
