Italian singer Pupo was singing this song when I was a child …
My grandparents had a gramophone of the 50’s in their house and we often listened to this song,
which, at the time, was the most modern (!) available from them.
Chocolate gelato is definitely the most popular taste all year round by both, adults and youngsters.
Below is the recipe …
½ l. of milk
50 gr. of cocoa (for a more intense flavor replace 20 gr. with dark chocolate)
40 gr. of liquid cream
2 tablespoons of sugar
15 gr. of milk powder
3 gr. of stabilizer
Pinch of salt
1 egg yolk (optional)
Mix all dry ingredients together, then add the egg yolk while continuing to stir.
Finally add all the liquids and , after mixing well, put everything in a saucepan and heat up to 85 ° C with the help of a thermometer.
Allow the emulsion to cool down then turn on the gelato maker machine , pour in the mixture and stir for about 30/40 min. or until you see a well mounted gelato.
Let stand for about 1 hour in the freezer.
