it is a bit ‘of time I hear about goji berries … I read up a bit’ and then I bought some to try them.
I’ve been eating goji berries for a few months, replacing mid-morning and afternoon snacks ; they are good, give a lot of energy, and, above all, they bring a huge number of benefits to our body.
Goji berries are the fruit of a spontaneous Tibetan shrub , the Lycium barbarum, that belongs to the Solanaceae family that grows on vines and creepers.
These small red berries, with a pleasant sweet flavor reminiscent of blueberry, are considered an essential element in traditional Chinese medicine for the value of their nutrients.
They are rich in nutrients such as vitamins C and E, that protect against free radicals and oxidative stress, and minerals, especially copper, iron, phosphorus and manganese which help regulate energy metabolism, potassium and magnesium that increase muscular endurance and zinc and chromium, which offer valuable support in low-calorie diets.
Here is the recipe of a sweet tooth …
½ l. of milky
60 g. of cream
100 gr. sugar (if t available , replace 40 g. of sucrose and dextrose)
15 g. of milk powder
3 g. of stabilizer
Pinch of salt
180 gr. of Goji jam
Mix all dry ingredients together, then add the liquids; put the mix in a saucepan and bring over a medium heat then up to 85 ° with the help of a thermometer.
Let the emulsion to cool down, then add Goji jam to the mix.
Finally, put the mix in your gelato (ice cream) maker machine stir for about 30-40 min. or until you see a well mounted gelato.
When ready, serve decorating with some dried goji berries .
