Coffee Gelato

Coffee Gelato (home made italian ice cream)

 

Hello everyone!

I do not know about You, but I’m a coffee addict.

I quit smoking, I live a healthy life, I drink occasionally and moderately, but I can’t live without  coffee!

For me it’s really never morning without a nice , hot, cappuccino and there is no after-dinner (often dinner) without a cup of espresso with that unmistakable aroma.

And then I complain that I do not sleep …. but that’s another story …

Here’s the recipe …

Ingredients:

½ l. of  milk
3 teaspoons of instant coffee
70 gr. of liquid cream
130 gr. of sugar (if  available,  replace 50 gr. sugar with dextrose)
15 gr. of milk powder
3 gr. of stabilizer
Pinch of salt
1 egg yolk (optional)
a few coffee beans

Procedure:

Mix all dry ingredients together (except the coffee), then add the egg yolk while continuing to stir.

Finally add the liquids and mix well, put everything in a saucepan including  the coffee beans.

Heath up to 85 ° C with the help of a thermometer, then filter to remove all the grains.

At this point add  instant coffee then stir to facilitate mix emulsion  and allow to cool down.

Turn on the gelato maker machine  and stir for about 30/40 min. or until you see  well mounted gelato.

Let stand for about 1 hour in the freezer.

If you want  you can serve with a decoration of coffee beans ,even using those coated with chocolate.
